Densus 88 Arrests 12 Terrorism Suspects, Discoveries of Shooting Training Found
The Indonesian National Police’s Densus 88 Anti-Terror Squad has arrested 12 suspects involved in terrorism crimes across six provinces. During the investigation process, police discovered evidence of alleged training activities, ranging from physical conditioning to shooting practice.
Spokesperson for Densus 88 Anti-Terror Squad, Kombes Mayndra Eka Wardhana, stated that the law enforcement action against the 12 suspects was conducted simultaneously across six provinces. These regions include West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau, and North Maluku.
“The suspects are alleged to have links to networks affiliated with the Daulah Islamiyah ideology as well as other terrorism networks,” Mayndra told reporters on Sunday (4/10/2026).
The 12 apprehended suspects are identified by the initials HN (43), SM alias NM (52), HA (45), YDKAP (22), Y (36), S (49), A (32), CG (29), J (36), MF (37), AF (26), and MW (42).
During the course of the investigation, Densus 88 uncovered alleged training activities conducted by some of the suspects. This training included physical exercises, shooting, and other activities related to terrorist militancy.
“During the investigation, evidence of alleged training activities was found among some suspects, including physical training, shooting, and other activities related to terrorist militant activities,” said Mayndra.
Following the arrests, Densus 88 is continuing the investigation through several measures against the suspects and the evidence seized.
“After carrying out the arrests, Densus 88 AT Polri is conducting a series of investigative actions, including searches, seizures, and examination of evidence, as well as the interrogation of witnesses and suspects, in accordance with existing SOPs,” he explained.
Densus 88 confirmed that the investigation into the 12 suspects is still ongoing. Investigators are further examining the evidence found as well as the suspects’ connections to other individuals or terrorist networks.
“Densus 88 AT Polri emphasises that the investigation process is still underway. Investigators will further examine the evidence found and the connection of each suspect to individuals or other networks,” he concluded.
