The National Police Counter-Terrorism Squad (Densus 88 AT) has arrested 12 terrorism suspects. The arrests were carried out simultaneously across six provinces.

“Law enforcement was conducted simultaneously in six provinces, namely West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau, and North Maluku,” said Densus 88 AT spokesperson, Kombes Mayndra Eka Wardhana, on Sunday (4/10/2026).

According to the spokesperson, the arrests have been taking place since Friday (2/10) this week. The suspects apprehended are suspected of having links to several networks affiliated with terrorism.

“The suspects are believed to have connections to networks affiliated with the Daulah Islamiyah ideology, as well as other terrorist networks,” he stated.

The 12 suspects detained include HN (43), SM alias NM (52), HA (45), YDKAP (22), Y (36), S (49), A (32), CG (29), J (36), MF (37), AF (26), and MW (42). Preliminary investigations have revealed connections between the suspects across these different regions.

“Specifically through online meetings used for indoctrination, network consolidation, and coaching activities. One pattern identified was the organisation of online meetings that virtually connect several supporters of Daulah Islamiyah from various regions,” he explained.

Investigations are ongoing, including the examination of several pieces of evidence seized during the arrests.

“Densus 88 AT Polri emphasises that the investigation process is still underway. Investigators will further examine the evidence found as well as the connections of each suspect to other individuals or networks,” he concluded.
