A fire engulfed a dense residential area along West Krendang Road in Tambora, West Jakarta. The West Jakarta firefighting and rescue service (Gulkarmat) deployed 21 fire engines to the scene.

Syaiful Kahfi, operational section head of West Jakarta Gulkarmat, stated the agency received a report on Thursday (28 May 2026) at 7:47 PM WIB when a resident reported the incident at Krendang fire station. He added that firefighting efforts were ongoing. ‘Red status: initial deployment of seven units or 35 personnel, followed by a second deployment of 14 units or 60 personnel,’ he said.
