The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) Region III Denpasar issued an early weather warning for the Bali region on Thursday, 26 February 2026. Based on weather data analysis, the city of Denpasar has been placed on HIGH ALERT status due to the potential for heavy to extreme rainfall.
BMKG forecaster, Putu Agus Dedy Permana, explained that during the period of 24-26 February 2026, Bali is experiencing increased convective cloud activity. βThe high alert level applies to the Denpasar, Badung, and Tabanan areas. We urge the public to be vigilant against the potential for flooding and fallen trees due to strong winds,β he said in an official statement.
In addition to the weather on land, BMKG also issued a special warning for coastal areas. Wave heights in the southern waters of Bali are forecast to reach 1.0 to 3.0 meters. This condition is considered quite dangerous for maritime tourism activities and traditional fishermen. (E-4)
