The Lebaran return flow to Bali continues until Thursday (26/3/2026). Head of the Denpasar City Transportation Agency (Dishub), I Ketut Sriawan, has emphasised to bus companies (PO) not to pick up and drop off passengers indiscriminately. This is to prevent traffic disruptions in Denpasar City and ensure the safety of road users.

According to Sriawan, inter-city inter-provincial (AKAP) buses are directed to pick up and drop off passengers at Mengwi Terminal, not at Ubung Terminal or roadside.

“We want to enhance safety, meaning centralise operations at the terminal and avoid creating their own pools. This way, it doesn’t add to traffic load and supervisory efforts,” he explained.

Sriawan also requested that the Directorate General of Land Transportation evaluate this year’s mudik and return flows. “So that regulations and public service quality are integrated, as it’s time we implement humane SOP services that meet the directed requirements,” he clarified.

“So there are no violations, they are truly satisfied and arrive safely at their destinations. Because Denpasar’s traffic volume is also high, this needs to be controlled, with immediate evaluation,” he stated.

Sriawan assured that the Denpasar City Transportation Agency will enhance transportation services, both for passengers and goods. However, he also hopes for central government support.

“Because Denpasar is the centre of economic activities, education, and the capital city. This also needs central support to realise good public services in Denpasar City,” he added.

In monitoring the return flow, his team collaborates with relevant parties to continuously monitor movements at the Integrated Post. “We anticipate and monitor several bus pools so that arriving passengers do not linger and can be assisted by operators to reach their destinations safely,” Sriawan emphasised.
