Denpasar student dies in Fuso U-turn crash
A fatal crash occurred on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai in Sesetan, South Denpasar, in the early hours of Thursday, 28 May 2026. A student identified as I Gede DMP died after his Kawasaki ZX25 motorcycle collided with a Fuso truck making a U-turn on the road median. The 17-year-old victim was found face down with bleeding from both ears, along with a frontal skull fracture and a closed fracture of the right humerus.
Operations Centre Officer of Denpasar City BPBD, Putu Darma Putra, stated that the Nanggala Medical Response Unit 402 received a report of the traffic accident near a Lottemart supermarket at approximately 2:30 AM WITA. Upon arrival, medics confirmed the victim had no signs of life, with unmeasurable oxygen saturation, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was later transported to a hospital by Denpasar City BPBD ambulance.
Denpasar City Police Public Relations Head, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, explained that the crash happened when the victim was riding his motorcycle west to east, while the Fuso truck (registration DR 8159 AA), driven by RC, 44, a resident of Banyuwangi, East Java, was turning around on the median from east to west. “The victim died after colliding with the Fuso truck attempting to make a U-turn on the road median,” he said. “The truck was turning from the opposite direction, east to west, leading to the accident,” he added.
