The Narcotics Investigation Unit of Denpasar Police Headquarters has uncovered 32 drug-related criminal cases during the period from 20 January to 24 February 2026. From this investigation, a total of 37 suspects were arrested.

“Within one month, the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Denpasar Police Headquarters successfully uncovered 32 cases involving 37 suspects, all of whom played the role of drug dealers,” said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Leonardo David Simatupang during a press conference at Denpasar Police Headquarters on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

Leonardo detailed that of the 37 arrested suspects, 35 were men and two were women. Four of them were recidivists: YA (assault case in 2016), DM (narcotics case in 2018), IN (narcotics case in 2021), and AP (narcotics case in 2023).

From all investigations, police seized substantial evidence, including 3.5 kg of cannabis, 1.4 kg of cocaine, 427 ecstasy pills, 508.11 grams of methamphetamine, and 34.49 grams of synthetic tobacco.

“The dominant method used is the stash point system. Goods are placed at a certain location and then collected by buyers according to instructions,” he explained.

Eleven Prominent Cases

Of the 32 cases uncovered, 11 were particularly notable. One involved BJ (53), a British national, who was apprehended with cocaine evidence weighing 1,419.79 grams.

“This person was born in Hong Kong, works as a carpenter, and holds British citizenship,” Leonardo stated.

Another case involved RG (33) and FG (32) who were arrested with evidence of 2,485.24 grams of cannabis and 0.86 grams of cocaine. MA (36) was apprehended with 117.09 grams of methamphetamine and 248 ecstasy pills.

YA (31), a recidivist, was arrested again with evidence of 961.49 grams of cannabis. IN (27), a female recidivist, was again apprehended with 39.58 grams of methamphetamine and 40 ecstasy pills.

Subsequently, AL (26) was arrested with 110 grams of methamphetamine. DB (31) was apprehended with 48.63 grams of methamphetamine and 83 ecstasy pills. MD (28) was arrested with 18.80 grams of methamphetamine. KS (37) was apprehended with 14.43 grams of methamphetamine and 30 ecstasy pills.

NA (29), a recidivist, together with KA (31), was arrested with 5.16 grams of methamphetamine and 4 ecstasy pills. Meanwhile, DM (51), also a recidivist, together with YS (38), was apprehended with evidence of 5.15 grams of methamphetamine.

The suspects have been charged under Article 111 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and Article 609 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.

The sentences imposed range from a minimum of four years imprisonment to 20 years, or even life imprisonment, along with fines of billions of rupiah.

Leonardo emphasised that his unit will continue to intensify efforts against illegal drug trafficking in the Denpasar Police jurisdiction.
