Denpasar Immigration Office assures services remain normal after KPK search
The Class I Immigration Checkpoint Office (TPI) in Denpasar, Bali, has assured that immigration services are running normally after the office was searched by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday. “Services are continuing smoothly,” said Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office R. Haryo Sakti when confirmed in Denpasar on Friday. He explained that public services, such as passport applications and residence permit processing, were unaffected by the search conducted by KPK investigators. According to him, immigration services are operating as scheduled, both at the office and at an external service location currently underway in the Renon area of Denpasar. The KPK investigators searched the Class I Immigration Checkpoint Office in Denpasar on Friday after immigration services resumed following the Galungan holiday on 16–18 June 2026. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the search, which began at midday. He stated that the search was a follow-up to an investigation into alleged extortion of foreign nationals during the processing of immigration documents, specifically Limited Stay Permit Cards (KITAS) and Permanent Stay Permit Cards (KITAP). The KPK had previously conducted a sting operation related to the alleged corruption in processing foreign nationals’ residence permits and named eight individuals as suspects. The suspects are believed to have been involved in extortion practices, with estimated illicit gains from the scheme reaching Rp145.5 billion.
