Denpasar Immigration Detention Centre Deports Six Foreign Nationals from Three Countries for Legal Violations

The Denpasar Immigration Detention Centre (Rudenim) in Bali has deported six foreign nationals from Canada, New Zealand, and India for breaching the law and their residence permits. “We will not tolerate any violations, whether of immigration regulations or actions that disrupt public order,” said Head of Rudenim Denpasar Teguh Mentalyadi in Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali, on Saturday. He detailed that the deported individuals were RNB from New Zealand, FRP from Canada, and four Indian nationals with the initials SS, GS, BS, and SSP. Teguh explained that they were brought to the immigration office at different times and temporarily detained at Rudenim Denpasar while awaiting the examination process and their financial readiness to purchase their own tickets back to their respective countries. FRP was previously arrested by Buleleng Police on 9 May 2026 for running amok and damaging property at the Griya Adi Jaya Housing Complex in Sukasada District, North Bali. The 51-year-old man was then handed over to the Singaraja Immigration Office before being temporarily detained at Rudenim Denpasar in Jimbaran, Badung Regency. “Although his visit stay permit was valid until 18 June 2026, he was still firmly dealt with because he had disturbed public security,” he said. In a separate case, immigration officers apprehended RNB, who had overstayed her residence permit by 56 days. The 54-year-old woman entered Indonesia using a Visa on Arrival (VoA) on 28 January 2026, and her permit expired on 26 February. She claimed she was unaware that her stay permit had expired, leading to her temporary detention at Rudenim. Meanwhile, the Indian national SSP was arrested for running amok and damaging property at a hotel in Ubud, Gianyar, and refusing to pay food and laundry bills. Additionally, three other Indian nationals were involved in different cases of overstaying their permits by 30 to 70 days. Beyond deportation, the six foreign nationals are also recommended to receive sanctions in the form of a prevention from entering Indonesia for 5 to 10 years, or even a lifetime ban, as they are deemed to pose a serious security threat under Article 102 of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration. “The final decision regarding the duration of the entry ban will be determined by the Directorate General of Immigration after considering all aspects of the case,” said Teguh.
