Denpasar District Court is trying two suspects over vandalism of police posts located in Kuta and Denpasar. In the first hearing at Denpasar District Court, on Thursday, the two defendants Kana Satipa and Riza Firmansyah were charged with the first indictment under Article 262(2) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the KUHP, the second indictment under Article 521 of the same Law, and the third indictment under Article 522 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the KUHP. Prosecutor Haris Dianto Saragih of Denpasar State Attorney’s Office outlined the vandalism against the police posts situated at the Traffic Light on Sunset Road, Kuta, and Simpang Enam, Jalan Teuku Umar, Denpasar. Initially, the defendants were travelling together from Gimmie Seltter towards Kuta Beach when, while crossing Sunset Road, they saw the Police Post at Simpang Tl on Friday 14 November 2025 at around 22:00 WITA. Before that, they had plotted to scribble on walls around Jalan Kerobokan, so they prepared black wood stain placed in a bottle of Aqua. Coincidentally, the Sunset Road area was quiet and there were no vehicles passing nearby, which encouraged them to vandalise the Police Post there. “At that time Kana acted alone, puncturing the Aqua bottle containing black wood stain with a Vario motorcycle lock key,” the prosecutor said. After that, she sprayed paint on the rear wall of the post bearing the inscription 1312, meaning ACAB (All Cops All Bastards) in Indonesian, interpreted as “All Police All Bastards.” Next, they continued their journey towards Pantai Kuta. Then, on Saturday 15 November 2025 around 03:00 WITA, Kana and Riza toured around Jalan Imam Bonjol and Jalan Pulau Kawe. During the journey, Kana invited Riza to stage another act and suddenly she stopped the motorcycle beside the Simpang Enam Police Post on Jalan Teuku Umar. They together carried out vandalism again with the prepared paint. The inscription was again “1312” meaning ACAB. Moreover, Riza threw a stone at the post, causing the glass to break. He also took several photographs of the act which he planned to post on social media. The two’s actions caused material losses amounting to Rp10 million. Consequently they were arrested and brought to trial. In court, both defendants, when questioned, said they were disappointed with the authorities, following an incident in which an ojol rider was killed during a protest in Jakarta. Since then, various events involving officers in the traffic unit have tarnished the image of the security institution. “We are disappointed with the police, especially those in traffic,” the defendants said.
