Denpasar City Government Plans to Open Civil Servant Vacancies for Teachers in 2027

The Denpasar City Government plans to open civil servant (CPNS) vacancies in the education sector due to a shortage of teaching staff. This was conveyed by the Denpasar Regional Secretary, I Gusti Ngurah Eddy Mulya, during a working meeting discussing the draft General Budget Policy and Provisional Budget Ceiling Priorities at the Denpasar Regional House of Representatives. “The central government, through the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, is opening CPNS formations for the education and health sectors. However, considering our various fiscal capabilities, we have agreed to only accept teacher formations,” Eddy Mulya explained on Thursday (23/7/2026). Eddy Mulya stated that the plan to open CPNS for educators is intended to fill the teaching void, as many teachers are entering retirement or have already retired. “Because our need for teachers is very urgent and many civil servant teachers have completed their service, the city is opening a formation for 321 teachers,” Eddy Mulya added. If the process proceeds smoothly, the teacher recruitment will be opened during the 2027 CPNS intake. “Therefore, there will certainly be consequences for our regional budget,” Eddy Mulya clarified. The Denpasar City Government plans to add 321 teachers. According to Eddy Mulya, based on calculations by the Denpasar Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency, a budget of Rp 12 billion is required for the CPNS intake in 2027. “This has not yet been accommodated in the regional budget. However, this also concerns quality and how we will make these additions,” Eddy Mulya explained.
