Denpasar Agriculture Office Confirms Healthy Sacrificial Animals, Sales Predicted to Rise by 100-200 Head

Denpasar City Agriculture Office has confirmed that sacrificial animals sold ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026 are healthy and fit for slaughter, with sales volume predicted to rise compared to last year.

Ni Made Suparmi, Head of Animal Sacrifice Supervision for Denpasar City, stated on Monday, 25 May 2026: “The inspected animals are in good health and meet the required age criteria for sacrifice.”

She explained that the majority of sacrificial animal sales occur in West Denpasar, followed by South and North Denpasar, while East Denpasar has not reported any sales locations.

Last year, Denpasar recorded approximately 3,500 cattle and goats for sacrifice, with goats accounting for around 2,500 head.

“This year, there is an expected increase of 100 to 200 head,” Suparmi added.

Cattle sales points are located in the Cargo and Ubung areas of North Denpasar. Suparmi said inspections would continue until the Eid al-Adha slaughter process.

“We will also conduct checks at musallas and mosques tomorrow and before the slaughter,” she added.

According to Suparmi, officers will inspect remaining sales locations on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, with checks continuing at slaughter sites later that afternoon.

Although the number of sacrificial animals is expected to rise, Suparmi could not confirm this year’s purchasing trends as some residents now buy directly from farmers.
