Danish police have arrested two men on suspicion of espionage. Media reports said both suspects speak Russian.

According to AFP on Tuesday (20 October 2026), police provided no further details about the arrests, which took place on Monday in the North Jutland Region. Danish public broadcaster DR reported that MyDefence, a company specialising in drone detection and jamming, was the intended target.

“We arrested two people on Monday, 19 October,” North Jutland Police said in a statement.

The two men were charged with espionage at a hearing held on Tuesday afternoon at the court in Aalborg.

The police statement also said the case was being handled in cooperation with the intelligence services.

According to DR, the two suspects, who are in their early twenties, were accompanied by a Russian-language interpreter during the hearing.

Like other European countries supporting Kyiv, Denmark continues to heighten its vigilance over Russian espionage activities.
