Dengue spread in East Timor

DILI, East Timor: One child died and 25 others have been
admitted to hospitals as dengue fever spread in the city.

Chief of the local health office Samuel Munaiseche said the
government has launched an intensive campaign in the city to
inform people as to how they can protect themselves against the
disease.

"Their participation in keeping their environment clean is
essential in fighting the epidemic," he said to Antara.

Samuel said there has not been any report of similar outbreaks
in other regions in East Timor. (rms)
