Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DBD) cases in Klaten Regency, Central Java, up to week 26 of 2026 have been reported to have decreased compared to the same period the previous year. The decline in DBD cases, according to Head of the Klaten Health Office Anggit Budiarto, is thanks to increased public awareness in eradicating mosquito nests. When confirmed on Monday (20/7), Anggit stated that the reduction in DBD cases in Klaten this year is also a factor of heightened community awareness in maintaining environmental cleanliness. DBD cases in 2026 up to week 26 were recorded at 112 cases with one fatality. Meanwhile, in the same period last year, the number of DBD cases reached 363 with three deaths. “The significant decline in DBD cases in Klaten is thanks to the optimisation of the mosquito nest eradication movement and the role of mosquito larvae monitors, as well as maintained environmental cleanliness,” said Anggit Budiarto. The simultaneous mosquito nest eradication movement and accelerated medical treatment have been key to the significant reduction in DBD cases in Klaten. “Although DBD cases have dropped significantly, we urge all residents to remain vigilant, especially by improving environmental cleanliness,” Anggit said.
