DEN to Involve Telkom in Server Needs for Digital Social Protection System

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Economic Council (DEN) announced it will involve PT Telkom (Persero) to meet the server requirements for the Digital Social Protection (Perlinsos Digital) system. DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Panjaitan stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday that the government will temporarily continue using the existing National Data Centre (PDN). “For now, we are still using the PDN at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). But we have already been thinking, and it has been designed by our colleagues, that later on we will engage Telkom. So we won’t be tied to the State Budget (APBN). But in the end, we will probably see how it goes,” Luhut said. Meanwhile, the Digital Perlinsos system is targeted for release in October or November 2026. “Later in October or November, the President (Prabowo Subianto) will launch it nationally for 541 districts. We hope that by then it can be in place at around 80 to 90 percent,” Luhut stated. Luhut, who also serves as Special Advisor to the President on Digitalisation and Government Technology, said the national Digital Perlinsos is expected to be implemented gradually and comprehensively by the end of this year. He added that the pilot project for this Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)-based system is currently underway in several regions across Indonesia. Furthermore, Luhut noted that 42 districts/cities have currently become pilot areas. Residents in these areas are targeted to register for the system by July. “And we also agreed that for these 42 piloting districts, if possible by the end of July, they (the public) will have completed registration. So we will know later how many millions, that is 35 million (registered in Digital Perlinsos),” Luhut said. Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to visit the regions conducting the pilot project in early next month.
