Pontianak (ANTARA) - The National Energy Council (DEN) is promoting the acceleration of the energy transition through strengthened cross-sector collaboration in West Kalimantan (Kalbar) at the National Seminar on Renewable Energy held jointly with Nahdlatul Ulama University in Pontianak. “The energy transition requires close collaboration between government, academia, industry, and society. Indonesia’s energy future is built together,” said DEN member from the stakeholder element, Muhammad Kholid Syeirazi, in Pontianak on Saturday. Kholid emphasised that the transition to clean energy cannot rely solely on the government but requires active involvement from all elements. He revealed that Indonesia’s Energy Resilience Index is currently at 7.13, in the ‘resilient’ category, and is targeted to increase to ‘very resilient’ in the 2028-2029 period through integrated and consistent policies. In his presentation, Kholid outlined several strategic steps to strengthen energy resilience while accelerating the energy transition, including the acceleration of forming Energy Buffer Reserves (CPE). This is followed by reducing oil fuel imports through increasing biofuel blends and substituting LPG, as well as reforming energy subsidies to be more targeted. In addition, the government is also pushing for the acceleration of motor vehicle electrification and energy diversification in the household sector as part of efforts to reduce dependence on fossil energy.
