National Economic Council (DEN) Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has urged Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani to utilise the Mineral and Coal Information System (Simbara) platform for PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI) operations.

“I spoke with Danantara CEO Rosan last night and urged him to convene the DSI team to discuss Simbara’s implementation,” Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said after attending the ASEAN Regional Economic Outlook and Fiscal Policy event in Jakarta on Monday.

The mineral trade platform currently manages five commodities: coal, bauxite, nickel, tin, and copper.

Luhut stated that Simbara’s implementation has effectively curbed state revenue leaks, reducing them by up to 40% in the coal sector.

Companies exporting coal must report reserves, export volumes, tax payments, and royalty fees through the system.

All requirements are verified by Simbara. If a company is found non-compliant, the platform automatically blocks its operations.

“This system cannot be threatened by anyone—whether the military, police, or others. It cannot be influenced. Exporting companies must restart reporting from scratch if non-compliant. This is something we must collectively monitor,” Luhut said.

In a separate statement, Badan Pengaturan (BP) BUMN Head and Danantara Indonesia COO Dony Oskaria confirmed PT DSI has officially become a state-owned enterprise (BUMN).

He signed the deed of ratification for DSI’s BUMN status earlier today.

“It is now a BUMN, as the process requires 1% state-owned shares with special authority. It is official today,” Dony Oskaria said when met at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Monday.

However, export mechanisms for natural resources such as coal, palm oil, and ferro alloys are still being finalised.

“Details will be provided later; the process is ongoing,” Dony said.
