Demul Dismisses Head of Samsat for Ignoring Circular on ID Card Requirement for Vehicle Tax Payments

Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, has dismissed the head of the Soekarno-Hatta Samsat office in Bandung, who was deemed to have ignored the circular on waiving the original owner’s ID for annual motor vehicle tax payments. For information, the man commonly known as KDM or Demul recently issued a circular regarding the elimination of the first owner’s ID in annual vehicle tax payments. The circular was issued on Monday (6/4). However, shortly after its issuance, there were still Samsat officials who did not implement Demul’s directive. Then, on Wednesday (8/4) today, Demul took firm action. He temporarily dismissed the head of the Soekarno-Hatta Samsat in Bandung. The dismissal was carried out following complaints from netizens stating that at that Samsat, there were still those who did not heed the circular issued by Demul. “I would like to thank akang who has conducted an investigation into the effectiveness of the Governor’s circular. That the annual motor vehicle tax payment does not require the first owner’s ID. And in fact, there were still officials found who did not serve properly. And we followed up on that information last night. And today, I have temporarily dismissed the Head of Soekarno-Hatta Samsat,” said Dedi on Wednesday (8/4). In addition to dismissing the Samsat head, Demul through the West Java provincial government will investigate the reasons why his circular was not heeded by his subordinates. “That investigation will later uncover the facts of what caused the circular not to be effectively implemented yet,” he said. The public who will make the annual Motor Vehicle Tax payment only need to bring the vehicle registration and the ID of the person controlling the motor vehicle, or immediately transfer the ownership of the motor vehicle.
