A total of 4,263 joint security personnel have been placed on standby to secure protest actions at several locations in Central Jakarta today. Crowds are scheduled to gather at points including the Monas Southern Cross, the DPR/MPR RI building, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Tugu Tani, and the Ministry of Finance.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Head Iptu Erlyn Sumantri stated the joint forces comprise personnel from Polda Metro Jaya, Central Jakarta Metro Police, and sector police stations. The security operation is intended to escort the demonstrations to ensure they proceed safely.

Based on notifications received, a protest will be held by the National Board of Free Indonesian Farmers at the Monas Southern Bowl area in Gambir at 09:00 WIB. Subsequently, a crowd from Trisakti University’s student executive body will gather in front of the DPR/MPR RI building starting at 10:00 WIB.

The Indonesian Economics Students Senate Alliance will then demonstrate at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout at 11:00 WIB. Meanwhile, the Nusantara Students and Youth Coalition will hold actions at two locations, Tugu Tani and the Ministry of Finance, scheduled to begin at 13:00 WIB.

Erlyn reminded protest participants to convey their demands in an orderly manner. He also urged the crowd to avoid any provocative actions.

“Express your opinions peacefully, do not be anarchic, do not burn used tyres, do not damage public facilities, and do not resist officers. Respect other members of the public who are going about their activities,” he concluded.
