Jakarta, VIVA – Member of DPR RI’s Commission VI and Secretary-General of the Democratic Party, Herman Khaeron, highlighted the issue of importing pick-up trucks from India by PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara for the Red and White Village/Urban Cooperative program.
Herman stated his support for temporarily halting the import and urged that this procurement plan be discussed in depth at the DPR RI.
Previously, information emerged that Agrinas planned to import 105,000 pick-up trucks from India, worth IDR 24.66 trillion.
“This is a very large budget. It should first be discussed in the DPR to fulfil the principles of transparency and accountability of state finances. It should also be open to the public,” said Herman to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Herman said that Agrinas Pangan Nusantara had previously presented in a meeting of Commission VI the budget allocation for each village, amounting to IDR 3 billion.
The details are IDR 1.6 billion for building construction, IDR 500 million for working capital, and the rest for infrastructure, including transportation.
“(Agrinas) never mentioned what type of transportation and what the qualifications were. Then, we found out from the media that there was an import from India,” he said.
Therefore, he agrees with Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, to postpone the import of pick-up trucks from India for the Red and White Village Cooperative program.
“I agree with Mr. Dasco to stop it first until there is a decision from the government that ensures that this can be carried out,” he said.
“Because, looking at President Prabowo Subianto’s desire, who always wants local capabilities to be prioritised,” Herman concluded.
Previously, it was reported that Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, requested that the plan to import 105,000 pick-up trucks from India for the Red and White Village/Urban Cooperative (KDKMP) program be temporarily postponed.
Dasco said that the postponement must be carried out considering that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, is still abroad.
“So, the plan to import 105,000 pick-up trucks from India, I have conveyed a message to the government that the plan should be postponed first, considering that the president is still abroad,” said Dasco to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 23, 2026.
