Democratic Party Jakarta Cadres Gather as Political Machinery Gears Up for 2029
Jakarta — The Democratic Party’s Regional Leadership Council (DPD) in Jakarta has begun strengthening its internal networks. The consolidation activities are being held across all Jakarta regions, from North Jakarta to the Thousand Islands, including at various electoral districts.
“The key to winning is building relationships that ultimately create solidarity. This is the operational distribution from local party branches (DPC), sub-district branches (PAC) down to village-level branches (ranting),” said Mujiyono, Chair of the Democratic Party’s DPD in Jakarta, to Kompas.com on Monday, 9 March 2026.
Consolidation activities are being held simultaneously at various locations, including electoral district 2 in North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands local branch office.
Beyond maintaining solidarity, these activities are also being used to conduct routine party operational matters every three months.
“Politics is about association and gathering, so it requires frequent meetings. A well-functioning organisation is one that meets regularly, regardless of the specific content,” said Mujiyono.
This step is part of the Democratic Party’s preparations for the 2029 political year. Mujiyono emphasised that consolidation activities are conducted simply and simultaneously, driven by a spirit of service to the community.
“We need not worry about electability ratings. What matters is sincerely helping the community. God willing, this becomes a good deed and brings benefits to society,” he said.
Through these regular meetings, the Democratic Party in Jakarta hopes to strengthen cadre solidarity, keep the organisation vibrant from grassroots to polling station level, and warm up the party’s political machinery to face the political agenda of the next five years.
