Democrat Party Strengthens Support for Prabowo's Initiatives via Blue Sky Movement
The Democrat Party has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the ‘Indonesia Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful’ (ASRI) programme, an initiative proposed by President Prabowo Subianto. This support is being manifested through the National Blue Sky Movement of Indonesia ASRI, which is also part of a series of events celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Democrat Party on 9 September 2026.
The Secretary General of the Democrat Party, Herman Khaeron, stated that preserving environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility that must be realised through concrete action and collaboration across all elements of the nation. “The Indonesia Asri Blue Sky Movement is in line with the spirit of the Indonesia ASRI Programme initiated by President Prabowo. For the Democrat Party, this spirit needs to be continuously promoted, and we want to be at the forefront to help ensure the success of this programme,” Herman Khaeron said in a written statement on Friday, 31 July 202lar.
The Indonesia Asri Blue Sky Movement has been carried out for four consecutive weeks, specifically on 10 July, 17 July, 24 July, and 31 July 2026. In the fourth week, the Democrat Party organised 89 simultaneous actions across 70 regencies and cities throughout Indonesia. These activities involved party members, local governments, communities, students, and the wider public, including community cleaning, tree planting, free health checks, and the painting of places of worship and public facilities.
Herman explained that this programme is being implemented under the direct instruction of the Chairperson of the Democrat Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). This environmental action is one of the 25 main agendas for the party’s 25th anniversary, designed to provide a direct positive impact on society. “Alhamdulillah, the Democrat Party, which was born, grew, and developed alongside the people, is now entering its twenty-fifth year. We want this anniversary celebration to be a momentum to strengthen our service to the community through various activities that directly touch the needs of the people,” said Herman.
Furthermore, Herman emphasised that the Indonesia Asri Blue Sky Movement will not stop as a mere ceremonial activity, but rather as a sustainable movement capable of fostering a culture of environmental care within society. Therefore, its implementation is designed as a collaborative space involving various elements so that the benefits can be felt more widely. “The Democrat Party will remain consistent, collaborative, and provide many benefits, not only in major cities but also in regional areas, including villages. Because cleanliness is health, and health is a blessing. And if there is a blessing, Indonesia will be more capable of conducting various activities that advance and prosper its people,” he concluded.
