Democrat Party says SBY may not attend Pancasila Day ceremony
Jakarta, Kompas.com - Sixth Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono ( SBY) may not attend the Pancasila Day ceremony scheduled for 1 June 2026 in Jakarta.
Democrat Party’s Council of Experts chairman Andi Mallarangeng said Sby has received an invitation to the ceremony but already has commitments in Bandung until 1 June.
‘We are currently in Bandung. Thank you for the invitation, but President Sby has a series of events in Bandung until next Sunday,’ Andi told Kompas.com on Saturday, 30 May 2026.
However, Andi did not elaborate on Sby’s activities in Bandung.
Previously, the Pancasila Ideology Implementation Agency ( BPIP) extended invitations to former presidents and vice presidents to attend the Pancasila Day ceremony on 1 June 2026.
BPIP’s Chief of Secretariat Tonny Agung Arifianto stated all former presidents and vice presidents received official invitations for the event.
The Pancasila Day ceremony will be held at Pancasila Building, Jakarta, on Monday, 1 June 2026, at 10:00 WIB.
According to plans, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will preside over the ceremony as the inspecting officer.
Additionally, Vice President Gibban Rakabuming Raka and the MerahPutih Cabinet ministers are also scheduled to attend.
