Democrat Party Jakarta distributes 1,500 meat packages to the public

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Democrat Party’s Jakarta branch has conducted the sacrifice of 11 cattle to distribute 1,500 meat packages to the public. This initiative forms part of a national moral movement instructed by party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as a gesture of concern for communities during challenging economic conditions. ‘This is a tangible demonstration of the Democrat Party’s concern for the public. We are implementing Chairman AHY’s directive to ensure the party assists citizens, particularly amid current economic difficulties,’ said Andika WisnuadjiPutra Soebroto, committee chairman for the Democrat Party’s Jakarta Qurban, on Saturday. Andika, who is also a member of Commission C in the Jakarta Provincial Regional House of Representatives, explained that the cattle sacrifice and Distribution were carried out by party members and supporters. The packages were distributed to residents across various Jakarta districts, prioritising those in need. He added that the spirit of sharing during Eid al-Adha reflects social responsibility and community solidarity amid economic pressures on smaller communities. ‘This national moral movement aims to preserve collective spirit and social compassion. We understand many people require assistance due to ongoing economic hardships,’ Andika stated. He expressed hope that the Qurban initiative would help alleviate public burdens while strengthening social solidarity in Jakarta’s urban environment.
