Democrat Party holds 137 'Blue Sky' actions across 114 regions

The Democrat Party has carried out 137 ‘Gerakan Langit Biru Indonesia Asri’ (Blue Sky Movement Indonesia Asri) actions across 114 regencies and cities as part of the commemoration of the party’s 25th anniversary. National Coordinator of the movement, Ossy Dermawan, stated in a written release on Friday that the second week of the movement saw activities implemented in 62 regencies and cities, bringing the total to 137 actions in 114 regions. “Previously, in the first week, we carried out 69 activities in 52 regions. Now the total has reached 137 activities in 114 regencies and cities,” said Ossy.

He explained that the movement is a follow-up to the directive of Democrat Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to ensure the party’s 25th anniversary is filled with activities that benefit the community, while also supporting the ‘Indonesia Asri’ programme initiated by President Prabowo Subianto. The second week’s activities included community clean-ups, tree planting, free health checks, and the painting of places of worship and public facilities. “We dedicate this movement to support the cleanliness, comfort, order, and health of the community,” he added.

Ossy further noted that AHY instructed the movement to involve various community elements, including local governments, community organisations, students, and volunteers. The involvement of these diverse groups is expected to strengthen the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) in maintaining environmental cleanliness and health. The ‘Gerakan Langit Biru Indonesia Asri’ is scheduled to take place every Friday until the end of August 2026 as a series of events leading up to the Democrat Party’s 25th anniversary on 9 September 2026.
