Democrat Party Cadres in Aceh Urged to Maintain Solidarity Ahead of Regional Conference

Aceh Democrat Party cadre and DPRA member Nurdiansyah Alasta has called on all party members in the province to maintain unity and solidarity ahead of the Regional Conference (Musda) scheduled for 19 August 2026. He stated that the Musda is an internal democratic forum that must be conducted with respect for organisational rules, a spirit of kinship, and political maturity. According to him, differences in views and choices during the process are normal as long as they do not disrupt party solidarity. “The Democrat Party has clear, open, and democratic Musda rules. All stages are regulated through organisational mechanisms, so every cadre has an obligation to respect the ongoing process,” Nurdiansyah said in a statement on Monday. He expressed confidence that General Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) would make the best decision for the organisation’s interests based on party rules and various objective considerations. “I believe Chairman AHY will make the best decision for the future of the Aceh Democrat Party. As cadres, our duty is to maintain unity, respect organisational mechanisms, and accept every party decision with full responsibility,” he said. Nurdiansyah reminded all cadres to uphold political ethics during the Musda process. He urged that no party should spread slander, build misleading opinions, or use the General Chairman’s name to influence the attitudes of other cadres. He added that the energy of cadres should be focused on strengthening the organisation and increasing service to the community, rather than sharpening differences ahead of the Musda. “The Musda only lasts a moment, but the struggle to grow the Democrat Party is our long-term task,” he added. He stressed that whoever is entrusted with the leadership, all cadres must unite, run the organisation well, strengthen consolidation down to the grassroots, and focus on party work that benefits the community.
