Demand Surges Due to Whoosh, Summarecon Releases Commercial Space
The expansion of the eastern Bandung area in West Java is becoming increasingly aggressive as the integrated city ecosystem in Summarecon Bandung matures. Entering the second quarter of 2026, the property developer PT Summarecon Agung Tbk has officially introduced Diamond Commercial, a row of exclusive shophouses targeting business operators in this new economic growth centre. This commercial facility occupies a strategic location on Jalan Gedebage Utama, right next to Sekolah Terpadu Sedaya Bintang, a trilingual educational institution affiliated with Sekolah Terpadu Pahoa. Unlike typical commercial developments, this facility arrives when the surrounding support ecosystem is already established. The presence of supporting infrastructure such as the Gedebage Toll Road, ITB Innovation Park, and RS Santo Borromeus further strengthens the investment appeal in this corridor. Through development oriented towards Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Summarecon Bandung aims to ensure quality of life and ease of access for business operators and residents in the integrated area. Executive Director of Summarecon Bandung, Hindarko Hasan, emphasised that the introduction of this product is a response to the continuously increasing traffic density in the region. According to him, Summarecon Bandung is becoming busier in all aspects, from traffic and shophouse tenants to malls and housing, all showing growth. “This product is released to support business needs in a very strategic location, adjacent to the school and the main access to Masjid Raya Al Jabbar,” said Hindarko, quoted by Kompas.com on Thursday (30/4/2026). Architecturally, these two-storey shophouses are designed with a high ceiling concept to provide an elegant and spacious impression. The spacious terrace and balcony areas are the main features to accommodate the food and beverage business trend as well as creative spaces that require high visibility. Hindarko explained that Diamond Commercial is offered in limited quantities, namely only 20 units. Units with a width of 5 metres are marketed starting from Rp 2.6 billion, while units with a width of 7 metres are offered starting from Rp 3.6 billion. Meanwhile, for Diamond Commercial units, the price is set starting from Rp 4.6 billion. Summarecon has begun the online booking stage on 20 April 2024, following the Product Knowledge event held a week earlier.
