Demand for KPR Housing in Bali Increases, BTN Targets Tourism Sector
PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has distributed 13,244 mortgage (KPR) units in Bali up to March 2026. This distribution is claimed to be one of the main contributors in supporting access to home ownership for the people of the Island of the Gods.
The Head of the BTN Regional Office for East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, Bagus Hendri Setiawan, revealed that the distribution of BTN’s Subsidised KPR in Bali continues to show a positive trend, with outstanding balances reaching Rp 1.64 trillion. This figure represents a year-on-year growth of 3.3 per cent.
“BTN remains the primary partner for the Balinese people in realising home ownership,” said Bagus in Denpasar on Monday (8/6/2026).
In addition to the increasing demand for houses in Bali, Bagus continued, BTN is also strengthening the supply side through the Housing Program Credit (KPP). This programme targets the housing sector ecosystem, including developers, construction service providers, building material traders, and MSMEs that require financing support for productive housing.
BTN, he stated, has distributed KPP in Bali amounting to Rp 53.6 billion to accelerate house provision. He noted that the programme has mobilised the economic chain within the regional housing sector.
“The housing ecosystem has a broad economic impact. Therefore, BTN is present not only when the community buys a house, but also supports the entire value chain,” he added.
Targeting the Tourism Sector
Currently, Bagus continued, BTN is beginning to expand into Bali’s tourism industry as part of its business transformation towards ‘beyond mortgage’. This strategy positions BTN as a comprehensive financial solutions provider beyond its primary focus on housing finance.
This effort is being realised by partnering with various players in the tourism industry, including managers of tourist areas, tourist ports, tourist villages, and local merchants to strengthen the digital transaction ecosystem through the ‘balé by BTN’ application.
“We see that Bali’s tourism has a very large economic chain. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen collaboration with all tourism stakeholders in Bali,” he added.
Bagus emphasised that the strengthening of the transaction ecosystem does not abandon BTN’s primary focus as a housing bank. According to him, the ‘beyond mortgage’ transformation actually strengthens the core housing business while expanding the supporting ecosystem for the property sector and the regional economy.
“BTN remains the main partner for the Balinese people in realising home ownership. However, our relationship with customers does not end when the mortgage contract is completed. Through ‘beyond mortgage’, BTN aims to be more widely present, ranging from housing finance and support for housing sector businesses to the daily financial transactions of the community,” he concluded.
