JAKARTA — The health condition of Haji Muhammad Suryo, founder of Surya Group and owner of HS cigarettes, is improving steadily after he suffered a motorcycle accident in Simpang Empat Mlangsen, Desa Palihan, Temon District, Kulon Progo, on Sunday afternoon, 1 March 2026.

Despite being in recovery and having to endure the loss of his beloved wife, Hj Anis Syarifah, who was buried on Monday, 2 March 2026, Mr Suryo continues to demonstrate a strong humanitarian sense of responsibility towards other victims, namely Abdullah and his son Deva.

He is currently receiving treatment at RS JIH, while Abdullah and Deva are undergoing intensive care in the VVIP ward of RSUD Wates, Kulon Progo, with all medical costs fully borne by the Surya Group.

As a demonstration of duty and familial concern, a representative of Mr Suryo has visited Abdullah’s wife at RSUD Wates to offer condolences and to convey concrete assistance on Tuesday, 2 March 2026.

Mr Suryo’s family says they will take full responsibility for all medical treatment processes for Abdullah and Deva until they are completely recovered.

Not only the medical costs, Suryo has also given a brand-new motorbike as a replacement for the damaged vehicle.

Moreover, Suryo guarantees Deva’s educational future by providing a full scholarship up to university level, as he is currently a fourth-grade primary school pupil.
