Delpedro Freed from Incitement to Demonstration Charges, Mother: There Is Justice After All

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The emotional tears of Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah’s mother, Magda Antista, broke out as the panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court acquitted her son in the August 2025 demonstration incitement case. Magda, who attended with her husband, Deny Rismansyah, and their eldest son Delpiero Hagelian Rismansyah, went directly to Delpedro after the hearing ended. The three of them took turns embracing Delpedro and crying. The father was seen patting his son’s back, while the mother kissed both cheeks of her youngest son. “Today is a success and it turns out that the court is the place where there is justice,” Magda told reporters after the verdict at the Central Jakarta District Court in Kemayoran, on Friday 6 March 2026. She expressed gratitude that the panel of judges could view the matter clearly and in accordance with the trial’s factual evidence. She also thanked the legal team, activists, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that supported them throughout the legal process. “Many thanks. There have been many prayers, support, spirit, and attention supporting Pedro’s freedom because they know Pedro is not guilty,” she added. Previously, the panel at Central Jakarta District Court had acquitted Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah along with three other defendants, Muzaffar Salim, Syahdan Husein, and Khariq Anhar. “The defendants I to IV were not proven beyond reasonable and convincing evidence to be guilty of the offenses as charged in the first, second, third, and fourth indictments,” said Chief Judge Harika Nova Yeri. “They are acquitted of all charges brought by the Prosecution.” The judge also ordered that the four defendants be released from detention after the verdict was read. The panel also restored the defendants’ rights in terms of capacity, standing, and dignity.
