Delpedro and Three Others Sentenced to Two Years' Imprisonment in August 2025 Demonstration Case, Deemed Disturbing to Public
JAKARTA — The State Prosecutor’s Office at Central Jakarta District Court has argued that the actions of defendants in the alleged incitement case related to the August 2025 demonstrations, particularly Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, have disturbed the public.
Three other defendants in this case—Muzaffar Salim, Syahdan Husain, and Khariq Anhar—have been similarly characterised.
“The defendants’ actions have disturbed the public, created upheaval in society and resulted in demonstration activities that could cause damage to public and government facilities,” the prosecution stated during the charge hearing at Central Jakarta District Court in Kemayoran on Friday (27 February 2026).
The prosecution also revealed that evidence presented during the trial clearly demonstrated that each of the four defendants was the administrator of four social media accounts that approved the posting of content deemed to contain incitement.
The four accounts in question are Instagram accounts @lokatarufoundation, @blokpolitikpelajar, @gejayanmemanggil, and @aliansimahasiswamenggugat.
According to the prosecution, these four accounts, during the period of 25-30 August 2025, uploaded and or approved collaborative postings of content containing incitement.
“These social media accounts are public in nature and have numerous followers who are known and followed by the public, so the statements and postings on these accounts carry significant weight and impact in the public sphere,” the prosecution explained.
“Furthermore, this occurred in a heated social context that resulted in mass involvement in rioting, destruction of public facilities, attacks against police officers, and serious disturbance to public order and security,” the prosecution continued.
Consequently, the prosecution has demanded a two-year prison sentence for Delpedro and the other defendants.
“We, the State Prosecutors in this matter, in accordance with applicable legal provisions, on behalf of the state, urge the Panel of Judges at Central Jakarta District Court examining and adjudicating this case to impose a prison sentence,” the prosecution stated.
“Upon Defendant I Delpedro Marhaenis Mansyah, Defendant II Muzaffar Salim, Defendant III Syahdan Husain, and Defendant IV Arik Anhar of two years imprisonment, with credit given for time already spent in detention,” it continued.
The prosecution also demanded that Delpedro be immediately remanded in custody.
During the hearing, the prosecution stated that Delpedro and the three other defendants have been proven beyond reasonable doubt guilty of committing the offence of abetting the commission of a criminal act in public through oral or written statements inciting others to commit criminal acts or inciting others to resist state authority by force.
The prosecution stated that all four defendants have violated Article 246 in conjunction with Article 20 C of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Code.
