Delpedro and Others Acquitted; Metro Police Respect Legal Process
Lokataru Executive Director Delpedro Marhaen, @gejayanmemanggil admin Syahdan Husein, Lokataru Foundation staff member Muzaffar, and Riau University student Khariq Anhar have been acquitted in an alleged incitement case. The Metro Jaya Police stated they respect the legal process that has been conducted.
“Metro Jaya Police views the verdict of the Central Jakarta District Court in this matter as part of the judicial process running in accordance with legal mechanisms. Each stage in the criminal justice system has its own space and authority, and we respect this as an integral part of law enforcement,” said Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Budi Hermanto to journalists on Monday (9/3/2026).
According to Budi, the Metro Police conducted their work within their authority in investigating the case. Budi emphasised that investigators worked professionally throughout the investigation process, inquiry, and until the suspects were transferred to the prosecutor’s office.
“Investigators worked in accordance with their duties and authority, from the investigation process, inquiry, through to stage two involving the transfer of suspects and evidence to the public prosecutor. With the completion of these stages, the next process falls within the domain of prosecution and court examination,” he said.
“Therefore, we will not delve into the substance of the verdict delivered by the judges’ panel. For Metro Jaya Police, what matters is that the entire process has been carried out in accordance with applicable procedures and provisions, and each institution has carried out its role proportionally,” he added.
Budi stated that Metro Jaya Police consistently supports a just judicial system. The police will continue to carry out law enforcement professionally.
“Going forward, Metro Jaya Police will continue to carry out law enforcement duties professionally, carefully, and accountably, whilst supporting the operation of a just judicial system for all parties,” he explained.
The verdict hearing for Delpedro and others was held at the Central Jakarta District Court on Friday (6/3). The judge acquitted them of all charges brought by the prosecutor.
“It is adjudged and determined that Defendant one Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, Defendant two Muzaffar Salim, Defendant three Syahdan Husein, and Defendant four Khariq Anhar are not proven guilty of committing a criminal act as charged in the prosecutor’s second, third and fourth alternative charges,” said chief judge Harika Nova Yeri when reading the court’s decision.
“The defendants are hereby acquitted of all charges brought by the public prosecutor,” the judge added.
The judge ordered the restoration of the rights of Delpedro and others in their dignity and standing. The judge ordered their release from city detention following the announcement of this verdict.
“Restore the rights of the defendants in their capacity, status, dignity and standing,” the judge said.
