Dell Technologies World 2026: New AI Infrastructure Metrics and the Era of Agentic AI
In the Dell Technologies World 2026 event in Las Vegas, Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell stressed that the standard for evaluating a company’s technology infrastructure has shifted. No longer merely counting GPUs or comparing cloud versus on-premises, the main focus now moves to real operational efficiency through new metrics.
The two crucial metrics introduced are Time to Token (the speed at which the system processes requests) and Cost per Token (the cost of producing AI output at scale). This move is intended to ensure that investments in AI infrastructure yield measurable results for organisations.
The presence of NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at the event underlined the urgency of these metrics. Huang explained that Agentic AI, AI capable of reasoning and executing tasks autonomously, requires 100 to 1,000 times more compute power than conventional AI models. This transformation is claimed to cut work time from months to days.
Dell noted that 5,000 enterprise customers are now running production workloads at the ‘Dell AI Factory’ powered by the NVIDIA platform, a substantial surge over the last two years.
Dell unveiled a new data orchestration engine on the Dell Platform Data AI to overcome data silo issues that often hamper AI production. The following are claimed performance improvements on the latest platform:
Dell expanded its partnerships with industry leaders to accelerate AI adoption:
Notably, Dell data shows that 88% of organisations run at least one AI workload locally (on-premises). To support this trend, Dell released the Deskside Agentic AI using Precision workstations. This configuration is claimed to reach break-even with the cost of public cloud API within just three months.
With this shift, the challenge for CIOs is no longer merely possessing AI technology, but how to manage the ‘harness’ or security layer where AI agents operate, to ensure machine autonomy remains controlled and safe within the enterprise ecosystem. (Forbes/Z-10)
The Galaxy S26 Series arrives with the latest generation Galaxy AI designed not merely as an added feature, but as an everyday experience with tangible benefits.
Microsoft introduced the Frontier Success Framework and Microsoft 365 E7 in Hong Kong for scalable, safe and measurable AI operations for enterprises.
Salesforce research reveals that 70% of Indonesian workers feel more confident using AI at work due to personal use. See the risks of shadow AI and its solutions.
Agentic AI enables companies to move faster, become more adaptable, and be more precise in meeting customer needs.
AI agent technology should be used as a national strategic instrument to drive more precise, adaptable, and data-driven public policy in the digital era.
