Delegates from 17 countries set to attend Unhas International Dental Forum

Delegates from 17 countries are scheduled to attend the Asia-Pacific Regional Summit in Conjunction with the 3rd International Dental Summer Course and the 9th Hasanuddin Dentistry Scientific Competition (HDSC) 2026 in Makassar, from 22 to 26 July. The delegates hail from Pakistan, Algeria, Mongolia, Turkey, North Macedonia, France, Canada, Romania, Iraq, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, and Indonesia. Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at Unhas Faculty of Dentistry, drg Acing Habibie Mude OGST(K), stated in Makassar on Monday that the event is the largest international academic agenda organised by the faculty in 2026. “In addition to presenting scientific discussions and capacity building for dental students, this event also opens up space for collaboration between academics, practitioners, and students from various countries,” he said during an audience with Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin. During the meeting, drg. Acing Habibie Mude expressed hope that the Makassar City Government could provide support and officially welcome the international delegates participating in the event. Mayor Munafri Arifuddin expressed appreciation for the faculty’s consistency in delivering international academic forums in Makassar. According to Munafri, such activities not only enhance the reputation of educational institutions but also strengthen Makassar’s position as a city of education and a centre for global collaboration in eastern Indonesia. He added that the presence of delegates from various countries would positively impact the promotion of Makassar internationally while expanding cooperation networks across multiple fields. On the same occasion, Munafri encouraged the continuation and expansion of community service programmes and dental health services run by the faculty, particularly in the archipelago region.
