To mark the holy month of Ramadhan 1447 H and to welcome Eid al-Fitr 2026, The Sunan Hotel Solo unveiled a unique creation: Ramadhan Bedug made from chocolate cookies and pandan coconut cookies. The giant edible Bedug is positioned in the centre of the lobby as a symbol of a Ramadhan filled with warmth and togetherness.

The Bedug stands about 180 cm tall with a diameter of 125 cm. It is made from 25 kilograms of chocolate cookies and pandan coconut cookies bonded with white chocolate. The construction took five days and was carried out by The Sunan Hotel Solo’s Art & Pastry team with meticulous care and creativity.

The Bedug is a symbol of worship closely linked to Ramadan tradition in Indonesia, marking the times for sahur and iftar, as well as representing togetherness and cherished memories of the holy month. The chocolate cookies signify warmth and the sweetness of togetherness, while the pandan coconut cookies represent tradition and the authentic Nusantara flavours steeped in nostalgia.
