The Indonesian Attorney General’s Commission (Komjak) believes a definitive Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) must be appointed promptly at the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) following the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah. Komjak Chairman Pujiyono Suwadi stated that the appointment of Rudi Margono as Acting Jampidsus was appropriate to meet tactical needs. However, for strategic requirements, he assessed that a definitive Jampidsus is needed immediately to replace Febrie Adriansyah. He revealed that Komjak has inventoried suitable names for the future Jampidsus but did not disclose the details. “At least we have accommodated 10 names,” he said. In selecting these names, Komjak prioritised several criteria, including meeting administrative requirements, professionalism, and integrity. These names will subsequently be proposed by Komjak to the Attorney General. Previously, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin received Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation letter from his post as Jampidsus on Saturday (11/7). Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated the decision was taken as a commitment to maintaining the integrity, objectivity, and neutrality of the law enforcement process. According to Anang, Febrie’s resignation is also related to a legal process currently being handled by National Police investigators. “The Attorney General’s Office respects the decision and ensures that all duties, functions, and case handling within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes continue to operate normally according to applicable mechanisms,” Anang said. Febrie, along with another individual with the initials DR, has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering case.
