Defiant Minibuses Keep Operating After Raid, 10 Old Angkots in Bogor Impounded

The Bogor city government has raided public minibuses (angkot) older than 20 years on Jalan Juanda, Central Bogor, Bogor City. Dozens of angkots were caught in the operation.

“The result obtained today is 21 urban transport vehicles from several routes, which after our on-site inspection were found to have an average technical age from the years 2000 and 2002,” said Dody Wahyudin, Head of the Transport Division at the Bogor City Transportation Agency, on Jalan Juanda, Bogor, Tuesday (14/7/2026).

The raid on old angkots was led by Bogor Deputy Mayor Jenal Mutaqin. Personnel from the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit and the Bogor Garrison also assisted in the operation on Jalan Juanda.

He stated that the documents of 21 old angkots were confiscated. Meanwhile, 10 old angkot units that were found still operating after previously being caught in a raid were impounded.

“So, there were 21 vehicles whose documents we confiscated. Then, 10 vehicles, because they were not equipped with valid documents, including vehicle registration certificates (STNK), route permits, and roadworthiness test cards, were impounded at the Bogor City Transportation Agency,” said Dody.

“So, for those that had been caught in a previous raid and we found again today, we immediately impounded them at the Bogor City Transportation Agency,” he added.

Dody noted that 16 other angkots were ticketed. These vehicles were technically under 20 years old but had not renewed their KIR roadworthiness tests and their drivers did not possess driving licences.

“So, there were approximately 16 vehicles with a technical age of less than 20 years, but they had not extended their route permit supervision cards and had not carried out the KIR roadworthiness test. We issued them tickets, especially as the drivers also did not have driving licences,” said Dody.
