The defendant in the Kemnaker K3 extortion case, Fahrurozi, admitted to receiving multiple anonymous letters. These letters contained complaints about demands for money in the K3 certification process.

Fahrurozi made this statement during his examination as a defendant at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (7/5/2026). Fahrurozi served as Director General of Occupational Safety and Health Supervision and K3 in March 2025.

Initially, Fahrurozi admitted to receiving Rp20 million per month from Hery Sutanto, the Director of Institutional Development, from 2021 until February 2025. Hery is also a defendant in this case.

Fahrurozi stated that the total amount he received from Hery was Rp100 million. He claimed he only learned in October 2024, upon asking Hery, that the money was a thank-you from Occupational Safety and Health Service Companies (PJK3).

“So, every month after you were appointed as Acting Director General, you received it from Mr Hery Sutanto. Total Rp100 million?” asked the prosecutor.

“Correct,” replied Fahrurozi.

“And this was a thank-you from PJK3 at that time?” asked the prosecutor.

“At the time of receipt, I did not know. But after I asked Mr Hery in October, that’s when I found out—it became clear that it was thank-you money from PJK3,” replied Fahrurozi.

Fahrurozi admitted to receiving the money starting from June 2024, one month after his appointment as Acting Director General. He said he asked Hery about the payments because he frequently received anonymous letters.

“So you only asked then? Why did you only ask in October?” asked the prosecutor.

“Well, sir, there were many anonymous letters, complaint letters. That was actually what triggered me to think, ‘Wow, I need to ask what this money really is.’ That’s it, sir. Finally, I asked Mr Hery. His answer was that it was (a thank-you from PJK3),” replied Fahrurozi.

Fahrurozi admitted to receiving many anonymous letters since July 2024. The anonymous letters contained complaints.

“You explained that in July 2024 there were anonymous letters?” asked the prosecutor.

“Correct,” replied Fahrurozi.

“About what?” asked the prosecutor.

“There were also in July the previous month, and after that too, sir,” replied Fahrurozi.

“Oh, so there were many anonymous letters?” asked the prosecutor.

“Correct,” replied Fahrurozi.

The prosecutor delved deeper into the contents of the anonymous letters. Fahrurozi said the letters complained about demands for money in the issuance of K3 certifications by rogue elements at Kemnaker.

“What were the anonymous letters you mentioned about?” asked the prosecutor.

“The anonymous letters essentially stated that in the certification process, there were our members, rogue elements, demanding money. That’s the gist of it,” replied Fahrurozi.
