Defence SOE Holding Distributes Hundreds of Qurban Animals Under TJSL Programme
The Eid al-Adha occasion has been leveraged by DEFEND ID, the defence state-owned enterprise (SOE) holding company, to demonstrate social concern towards the community. Under the ‘DEFEND ID Berqurban 2026’ initiative, 100 Qurban animals were distributed simultaneously across the company’s operational regions.
The social initiative spans Bandung, Subang, Tasikmalaya, and Surabaya. The company also aims to strengthen harmonious relations with local communities and promote mutual cooperation.
Iqbal Fikri, Director of Operations at PT Len Industri (Persero), explained that this year’s Qurban programme involves all DEFEND ID subsidiaries, including parent company PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Dahana, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT Pindad, and PT PAL Indonesia. A total of 100 Qurban animals were distributed, comprising 39 cows, 60 sheep, and one buffalo.
‘Within the parent holding, field operations were coordinated with Len Incorporated entities, including PT Eltran Indonesia, PT Len Railway Systems, PT Surya Energi Indotama, PT Len Telekomunikasi Indonesia, PT Len Rekaprima Semesta, and PT Len Inovasi Teknologi,’ he said in Bandung on Tuesday (26 May). ‘These entities contributed 18 Qurban animals: five cows, 12 sheep, and one buffalo.’
‘This activity is part of the company’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme,’ he added. He noted that the Qurban ritual is not merely a religious obligation but a means to strengthen ties with communities around operational areas.
‘We hope the Qurban animals distributed through Len Incorporated will directly benefit the community. May this tangible action be accepted as a virtuous deed, bringing goodness and inspiring all company personnel to continue collaborating,’ he said.
According to data from Sumedang Regency’s Fisheries and Livestock Office as of 20 May 2026, monitoring has been conducted at 77 Qurban animal sales locations across the regency.
Through this initiative, the company hopes the Qurban animals’ benefits will be widely felt by the public, especially needy families.
The Qurban animal slaughter process is scheduled to take place immediately after Eid al-Adha prayers, planned at Alun-Alun Karanganyar.
Nationally, the President distributed 598 Qurban cows to 552 regions. The cows have an average weight of 800 to 1,000 kilograms.
Stock levels include 1,234 cows and 1,513 goats, compared to 1,191 cows and 1,458 goats in 2025.
