The Ministry of Defence will train Indonesian Development Mobiliser Graduates (SPPI) to manage Red-White Village Cooperatives. The Ministry of Defence is projecting that they will occupy managerial positions within the Red-White Village Cooperatives.

“SPPI education is directed towards preparing human resources that support the operational aspects and strengthen governance of red-white village cooperatives as part of strengthening village economies,” said Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of the Information and Public Relations Bureau of the Defence Ministry Secretariat, on Friday, 13 March 2026.

He explained that recruitment of SPPI for the Red-White Village Cooperatives is open to the public. All graduates and postgraduate degree holders from all disciplines may apply as prospective leaders in the cooperatives. “Anyone can participate as long as they hold a bachelor’s degree qualification,” said Rico.

Subsequently, he stated, SPPI candidates who register will undergo a selection and training process conducted by the Defence Ministry together with several other institutions, such as the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police, and the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform.

SPPI education for filling positions in Red-White Village Cooperatives will begin in June 2026. “This is currently still in the inter-ministerial or institutional coordination phase and in preparation,” said Rico.

Rico emphasised that this programme forms part of the government’s effort in preparing human resources to support the establishment of up to 80,000 Red-White Village Cooperatives and Red-White Sub-district Cooperatives. “Recruitment and training will be carried out in phases,” said Rico.
