Defence Minister urges Seskoad students to adapt to changing times

Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has urged students of the Army Command and Staff College (Seskoad) to adapt to the progress of the times, particularly in the field of defence. Speaking during a briefing to Regular Education Student Officers (Pasis Dikreg) LXVIII for the 2026 academic year in Bandung on Tuesday (21/7), Sjafrie said the students were expected to understand the development of the strategic environment, information warfare, and increasingly complex geopolitical dynamics while firmly upholding nationalism, patriotism, and professionalism. With this knowledge, he said, the Seskoad students would be capable of making strategic decisions in the future. Sjafrie stressed that a leader must possess sharp analytical skills, the courage to make decisions, the ability to build a unit, and a sense of responsibility for every task undertaken. He expressed hope that the students would study seriously at Seskoad so they could become quality future leaders of the nation. ‘Continue to improve competence, uphold the honour of the institution, prioritise the interests of the nation and state, and always remain loyal to Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Indonesian people,’ he said.
