Defence Minister Sjafrie Receives Chinese Counterpart in Indonesia

Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin received Chinese Defence Minister Admiral Dong Jun at the Ministry of Defence office in Jakarta on Friday (21/8). Dong Jun arrived with a Chinese delegation and was welcomed by Sjafrie with a state ceremony. Afterwards, Sjafrie and Dong Jun inspected troops and paid respects at the statue of Bung Karno. Sjafrie invited joint exercises between the Indonesian and Chinese armed forces. He said Indonesia and China agreed to enhance cooperation in the defence sector.
