Defence Minister Sjafrie Attends Joint TNI-Polri Breaking of Fast with National Police Chief

Jakarta — Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin attended a joint breaking of fast event for the extended TNI-Polri (Indonesian Military-Police) family held at Bhayangkara Field, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The event was attended by National Police Chief Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo alongside numerous state figures and officials. The Defence Minister and Police Chief were seated side by side on the main stage.

Also present were DPR Commission I Chair Utut Adianto, Special Adviser to the President for Public Order and Police Reform Ahmad Dofiri, and MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council) Chair Anwar Iskandar.

The event opened with the recitation of Qur’anic verses, followed by Ramadan spiritual guidance delivered by Islamic scholar Ustaz Adi Hidayat. The organising committee also distributed charitable aid to orphans as part of the breaking of fast ceremony. The event continued with a congregational Maghrib prayer and informal networking amongst invited guests.

“Our hope — our collective hope — is that this occasion becomes a moment to further strengthen our bonds of kinship, our synergy in facing various challenges and national problems, which of course require solidarity and coordination,” said Sigit.

He emphasised the importance of cohesion between the TNI and Polri in confronting future challenges. “However difficult the challenges we face, we can all handle them well because we are all united and cohesive,” he added.
