Defence Minister Sjafrie and Coordinating Minister AHY Coordinate National Airspace Security

Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin received a working visit from Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at the Ministry of Defence office in Jakarta on Thursday (25/6/2026). The meeting focused on discussing a number of strategic issues requiring cross-ministerial synergy to align national infrastructure development with defence aspects. A key agenda item was coordination on the security and control of national airspace to support the operations of international airports. Both ministers agreed that integrating regional development, transport connectivity, and air sovereignty systems is a government priority to support economic growth while maintaining national security. The meeting also addressed the development of new commercial flight routes through joint airspace utilisation without compromising military defence corridors. Through this synergy, the Ministry of Defence and the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development aim to strengthen future national airspace governance.
