Defence Minister Prabowo and BUMN Chiefs Meet at DPR to Discuss Sumatra Disaster Recovery

JAKARTA - A number of ministers from the Red and White Cabinet visited the DPR/MPR Complex on Wednesday (25 June 2025). They attended a coordination meeting of the Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force and the Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force for the Sumatra Disaster. The meeting took place in Nusantara Building IV, chaired by DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. The agenda was scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM WIB. Observations at the scene showed several officials in attendance. The meeting invitation listed other officials. Among those present were the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Forestry, the Minister of Environment, the Minister of Social Affairs, the CEOs of PLN and Bulog, and the governors of Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. The Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force for the Sumatra Disaster is led by Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian. Opening the meeting, Dasco expressed appreciation to government officials and task force members present. ‘I thank the post-disaster and rehabilitation task forces from the government. To save time, I will open the meeting with a bismillah,’ Dasco said. However, the discussions were held behind closed doors. ‘Given the nature of the post-disaster discussions, budgeting and reconstruction, the meeting has been declared closed-door,’ he added.
