Defence Minister Gathers Retired TNI Generals: Gatot Nurmantyo, Dudung, and Wiranto Attend

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s Defence Minister (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin gathered several retired personnel from the Ministry of Defence on Friday (24/4/2026). Based on Kompas.com’s observations at 08.50 WIB, the retired generals were seen passing through Aulia Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Former ABRI Commander General Wiranto arrived first. He waved to the media upon reaching the location. His arrival was followed by other former TNI Commanders, including Admiral Agus Suhartono. Subsequently, former Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman was also seen arriving at the Ministry of Defence office. After that, former TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa arrived with a smile and proceeded directly to the meeting room. In addition to the retirees, several active high-ranking officers were also observed attending the meeting. TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto attended with Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita. Then, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali and Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Tonny Harjono arrived together. Meanwhile, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak arrived later. The meeting was held behind closed doors and began around 09.24 WIB. The event’s agenda was described as a silaturahmi between the Defence Minister and the retirees.
