Defence Minister Gathers PKH Task Force Leaders to Discuss Optimisation and Governance
Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, in his capacity as Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH), gathered the task force’s leadership at the Ministry of Defence office in Central Jakarta on Monday, 13 July 2026. Attendees included Attorney General ST Burhanuddin as Deputy Chairman I, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto as Deputy Chairman II, TNI Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Richard Tampubolon as Deputy Chief Executive I, and Head of the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP) Yusuf Ate as a committee member.
Satgas PKH spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak stated that the meeting focused on optimising, synchronising, and evaluating the implementation of the task force’s duties. During the meeting, Minister Sjafrie emphasised the importance of good governance. “The principle of the organisation is a system that is regulated so that the achievement of targets mandated by Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025 can be carried out properly,” Barita said at the Ministry of Defence.
Barita also stated that the task force respects the legal process currently faced by its Chief Executive, Febrie Adriansyah, who is implicated in an alleged coal corruption case that caused blackouts in several regions. He stressed that the task force has a vital role in supervising forest areas, collecting administrative fines, and recovering state assets, with all actions guided by the principle of accountability. “The task force’s work is continuously evaluated based on field findings, verification, and data validation,” Barita said.
He added that the task force collaborates with 12 ministries and agencies, including the TNI, which serves as a security node in forest areas with varying levels of vulnerability. The task force will focus on ensuring forest areas are returned to state control and provide tangible economic benefits through the enforcement and recovery of neglected assets.
