Defence Minister Evaluates Military Basic Training Programme for Cooperative Managers
Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has conducted a thorough evaluation of the military basic training programme for prospective Red and White Cooperative managers. This evaluation follows the deaths of five participants during the training period. “Under the direction of the Defence Minister, the organisers have carried out a comprehensive evaluation of health aspects,” said the Head of the Human Resources Development Agency at the Ministry of Defence, Major General Ketut Gede Wetan Pastia, during a press conference at the Ministry of Defence office in Central Jakarta on Saturday. According to Ketut, a thorough medical examination is necessary to ascertain the physical condition of the participants. Once the participants’ health status is known, the Indonesian National Armed Forces units acting as training providers must adjust the physical training load according to the participants’ conditions. In terms of handling, the Ministry of Defence has also requested that medical treatment for ill participants be carried out swiftly and optimally. Beyond health evaluations, Ketut stated that Sjafrie has also requested an evaluation of the material delivery during the education programme. “Activities are also directed to be more adaptive, educational, and attentive to the psychological condition of participants through learning methods that build a spirit of cooperation, problem-solving, and a more enjoyable atmosphere,” he said. This approach aims to ensure participants do not lose the essence of the military basic training, which emphasises discipline and building leadership spirit. Ketut confirmed that the evaluation process will continue throughout the training period for the comfort and safety of the participants.
