Defence Minister Ensures Aceh's YTP 853/BRB is Maximally Serving the Community
Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has confirmed that the 853/Buwar Reje Bur (BRB) Territorial Development Infantry Battalion in East Aceh Regency is operating optimally in serving the community. The confirmation came during his inspection of the soldiers’ condition and the unit’s headquarters in Aceh on Thursday (18/6).
According to an official press release from the Ministry of Defence received in Jakarta on Friday, the visit is part of the ministry’s commitment to ensuring the readiness and optimising the role of territorial development units as a strategic element of national defence. During the visit, Sjafrie received reports from the unit commander regarding the condition of the headquarters and the challenges faced by soldiers on duty.
He was also briefed on various community programmes carried out by the unit, ranging from maintaining territorial security and ensuring the safety of local residents to food security initiatives. Following the reports, Sjafrie took the time to inspect the soldiers’ facilities, including their resting quarters and training amenities.
At the end of his visit, Sjafrie engaged in a dialogue with the soldiers. In his directives, he called on them to maintain professionalism and uphold the Sapta Marga, the military’s code of honour, in carrying out their duties. He also reminded them that the diverse backgrounds of the soldiers must be fused into a single identity as a solid and professional Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), ready to carry out duties across the entire territory of the Republic of Indonesia.
With a shared spirit and determination, Sjafrie expressed confidence that all YTP soldiers would become more cohesive in their mission to serve the community and the nation. The press release concluded that the soldiers are expected to further strengthen regional security stability, enhance TNI’s unity with the people, and make tangible contributions to development and public welfare.
